How do we find our niche?
• I have questions about my faith but I’m not sure who to ask.
• I need help studying the Bible but I don’t know where to start.
• Will there be anyone else in this fellowship who is like me?
• Where do I fit in?
I want to grow but will it be worth the effort?
These are common questions that filter through the hearts and minds of many people. In a growing church it can be difficult to really meet people and get plugged in. At Calvary we want to help you feel “at home” so here is one way that you can “get plugged in.”
We like to call them ABF’s (Adult Bible Fellowships). These are smaller groups of adults that you can get to know through fellowship, study and growth. The class sizes vary from 15 to 50 and from topic to topic. So if you want to get plugged in try an ABF at 9:45-10:45 every Sunday morning The following is a list and description of the upcoming ABF’s.
Where do we get started?
This fall we are kicking off our Adult Bible Fellowships with two different tracks to run on. The first track is called Foundations and in this course we will teach Foundations of Christian Living, Foundations of Theology and Foundations of the Bible. The second track to run on is called Digging Deeper where we will look deeper into certain Bible Books.
This Is What We Believe
There is a myriad of ideas and thoughs floating around in our culture today, many of which have no biblical foundations to build from. This life principle is true: "you can never build anything larger than the foundation can handle." That's why it is so key to understand what we believe as a church so that you can grow and develop in your Christian walk, your emotional well-being and relational wholeness. You need to know these life-changing truths to enjoy God's best for you.
Join with us as we look into basic beliefs of the Evangelical Free Church. This ABF will be lead by Matt Adamson and Pastor Bob Guilford and we will be meeting in Rooms 1 & 2.
Sermon On The Mount
As we study the book of Matthew we can see that he has a special interest in Jesus' mesages. He has gathered together a collection of Jesus' messages that enable the church for all ages to carry out a crucial component of Jesus' final commission: "teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (28:20).
Jesus' first sermon is well known: The Sermon on the Mount. From the first time Jesus spoke these words up to the present day, people from all backgrounds and traditions have been challenged by its moral and ethical teaching. The Sermon is recorded in Matthew 5-7 and can be read through in a matter of minutes but the content is life changing. Won't you join with Judean Benston as he unlocks key truths this quarter? This ABF will meet in the Sanctuary.
